Originating from Jingdezhen, this petite teacup features a highly balanced proportion, with its diameter and height perfectly matched. The rim is crafted with a subtle "foliate" (花口 - huakou) design, offering a delicate undulating visual rhythm while expertly concentrating the aroma of the tea liquor. Breaking away from typical white-bodied porcelain, this piece is defined by its deep indigo background, presenting a visually striking inverted aesthetic. It serves as both a highly functional brewing companion and a collectible miniature archive showcasing advanced ceramic techniques.

Motif & Technique: Panelled Composition and Negative Space Cobalt Wash
The exterior is meticulously divided into symmetrical vertical panels (分格) by delicate white lines. Within each geometric compartment rests a distinct floral spray, symbolizing boundless vitality and the blooming of a hundred flowers.
The highest artistic value lies in the combination of the traditional "Fenshui" (Cobalt Wash) and "Negative Space" (留白 - Reverse-painted) techniques. Rather than outlining the flowers with cobalt lines, the artisan uses a specialized brush to apply expansive washes of blue across the background. This gradient-rich, abyss-like blue allows the pristine white porcelain body to form the floral pattern itself. Near the foot, the cup is bordered by a structured row of classic geometric lappets (变形莲瓣纹), perfectly balancing the organic, soft beauty of the reverse-painted flowers with architectural order.

Craftsmanship: Traditional Pine Wood-Fired Kiln (Chai Yao)
This piece is fired using the most traditional wood-firing kilns (柴窑) in Jingdezhen. The unfired vessel is placed securely inside a saggar (a protective ceramic box) and fired using pure pine wood. Kiln masters rely on decades of experience, manually adding wood to control the temperature, which eventually peaks at 1300°C.
Unlike the predictable and uniform heating curves of modern gas kilns, a wood-fired kiln produces a natural, rhythmic temperature variation. During the intense heat, the volatilized oils from the pine wood interact with the porcelain glaze. This distinct reaction grants the porcelain an exceptionally antiqued, deeply lustrous, and "oily" finish. It is this warm, jade-like texture that makes authentic wood-fired pieces irreplaceable.
